This is the simplest easiest vegan frosting recipe. But don’t let its simplicity fool you, it is absolutely delicious you wouldn’t even know it’s vegan buttercream. It really gets whipped up super fast and is dairy free, gluten free and completely vegan. It will be a hit with everyone.
Vegan Frosting - Dairy Free Buttercream
- 1/2 cup vegan butter, room temp
- 21/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- splash of liquid (nut milk or water)
Whip butter until it softens. Add the vanilla & whip again.
Slowly start adding the powdered sugar 1/2 a cup at a time. Make sure to scrape down the edges in between with a spatula.
Add a splash of liquid as needed to get the consistency you want.
Use any vegan butter. Most come salted, but it's usually less than 2%, you won't taste it.
